Gun Enthusiasts Heckle Father Of Newtown Victim

HARTFORD — A false fire alarm, 45-minute waits to get into the Capitol complex, even the heckling of a bereaved parent of a Newtown shooting victim marked Monday’s day-long legislative hearing on gun control.

“The Second Amendment!” was shouted by several gun enthusiasts in the meeting room as Neil Heslin, holding a photo of his 6-year-old son, Jesse Lewis, asked why Bushmaster assault-style weapons are allowed to be sold in the state.

“There are a lot of things that should be changed to prevent what happened,” said Heslin, who grew up using guns and seemed undisturbed by the interruption of his testimony.

It's precisely how you lose the debate for public opinion/support as well.
It's why the NRA has sentenced itself to irrelevance in the coming political fight.

Sans decorum, nobody is going to listen to your point. If you can't be respectful, zero people in the margins that could have otherwise been swayed by your argument, will be.

too many of these fuckers have no compassion and no care about what happened to this man and his family a month ago. They do not even have enough control over themselves to stop in the name of common decency when faced with someone who has lost the most precious thing, a family member. People with no common decency and no control are the last people who should be allowed guns with ammo.

Just my angry and not so humble opinion. My children are grown ups now but if I was in the shoes of this man and this happened it would probably put me away for good. How dare they?

To do what they did is unconscionable and something that should trigger a universal karmic blowback upon them. I hope they accidentally shoot the most cherished person in the world while loving cleaning or fondling their essential AR-15 assault rifle.

And to their "THE 2nd AMMENDMENT" bullshit...all I can say is that I believe it would be pretty nifty to have an Apache attack Helicopter of my very own (would sure make rush hour road rage a thing of MY past); and it would also pretty very neat-o to have a Naval Destroyer instead of my piss-ant Sunfish sailboat the next time I get to take to the high seas (I would definitely be safe from piracy THEN!!!); and I can't even begin to describe the coolness of having my very own Abrahms tank...sadly, all of THESE forms of arms ARE BARRED TO ME!!!! Don't give me the asinine "logic" of the slippery slope on this one. "Keep and bear arms" could be interpreted to mean swords and crossbows just as easily and logically consistently as assault weapons and semi-automatic rifles or pistols with high-capacity magazines intended to do one thing and one thing only - KILL AS MANY HUMANS AS POSSIBLE IN A VERY SHORT PERIOD OF TIME WITHOUT THE INCONVENIENCE OF RELOADING!!!

I hope the bastards doing this to that poor father rot in the hell of their pathetic existences forever.

Back then the founders didnt like the idea of a large standing army. So they believed in a "well regulated militia" that can be called upon in times of war or crisis. That militia is the "whole people," as George Mason put it.

Thomas Jefferson even suggested that learning to use firearms should be a standard part of education.

The type of gun control the founding fathers would favor is probably similar to what the Swiss do today. Owning a gun is encouraged, and most citizens own firearms, but there are permits and you need to learn how to use it. There is also no standing army in Switzerland. It's a true militia system.

Surely it can't be anything capable of sending single rounds and not magazines rounds.
