Chris Christie vetoes minimum wage increase

Christie the moderate?

This minimum wage increase would’ve brought the wage to $8.50 and then tie it to the consumer price index for the future. Christie said he wanted instead to raise the wage by only 25 cents this year, and then 50 cents the next year and 25 cents more three years from now.

A recent Quinnipac poll found that 82 percent of New Jerseyans support simply raising the wage to $8.50, showing that the governor is siding with the far-right in his veto.

one would think so, but the will of the people is not the first priority of elected officials in this country these days.

has already anointed him a frontrunner for the 2016 presidential race. He's a very 24/7 news cycle political product because he does a caustic and obnoxious fuck you tough guy God Father kinda schtick. They also want Rubio because he will serve as their more or less Latino mimic and maybe a Bush of some sort because the family crime syndicate would give them a long run family dynasty story to bust the dam of the right wing money machine.

It is so wrong that he would veto something that passed both the senate and the assembly and is supported by such a majority of the people. I hope people will remember this later this year when he's up for reelection.

He vetoed NJ's gay marriage bill, too.

Hopefully the leopard will continue showing his conservative spots.

This DUer had to bite his tongue when people were falling all over themselves to praise his assholery. It just happened to be directed toward his own party at the time. I knew it wouldn't last.

tried to get a huge tax cut for the rich, succeeded in eliminated tax on those earning over 400K, unbalanced the budget, destroyed a grant from the federal government because he didn't like it, tried and is trying to under cut the teachers union, tried to introduce voter id, but was laughed out of the legislature. If it is on Koch's list, he tried to do it, just dd not get very far, Not to mention his attitude besmirches NJ

The so-called media was trying to do everything in their power to make him look more Moderate during Hurricane Sandy.

As that great poet G.W. B. said: "There's an old saying in Tennessee — I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee — that says, fool me once, shame on — [pauses] — shame on you. Fool me — [pauses] — You can't get fooled again."
