And Falwell did, as well as the rest of them.

Hitler did say some things about religion............. "I believe that I am acting in accordance with the will of the Almighty Creator... I am fighting for the work of the Lord.." "My feelings as a Christian points me to my Lord and Savior as a
fighter." “I believe today that my conduct is in accordance with the will of the Almighty Creator.” "“I am now as before a Catholic and will always remain so."

Lots more... http://www.nobeliefs.com/Hitler1.htm

And then there was Mussolini.

There were Lutheran pastors (i.e. Dietrich Bonhoffer, Martin Niemoller) who resisted the Nazis both individually and as a group. Some died in prison or camps, some survived.

There were nuns who ran Catholic orphanages and took in Jewish children and gave them baptismal names; boys whose voices had not yet broken could be dressed as young postulants -- my late father in law regularly brought extra food rations to at least one orphanage in Belgium; his own children had been taken by the Nazis, but other children hidden in Catholic orphanages could and did survive.

There were also priests who resisted.

The history of anti-Semitism in Europe is centuries-long and dismal, and without it Hitler could not have succeeded the way he did. But not everyone went along, which is why there is a memorial in Jerusalem, Yad Vashem Museum, dedicated to the Righteous Gentiles.

in the same picture is insulting. Yes, Jefferson had his faults, but he was a more literate and thinking man than 95% of the denizens of Capitol hill.
