I am looking for a few magazines and newspapers to subscribe to as part of my morning reading. What are your favorites, and why?

(20,600 posts)PC Gamer and Maximum PC. I like to keep up to date on computer games and technology. If I had to pick one, Maximum PC is much better and more informative than PC gamer.
I also subscribe to a politics and news magazine "The Week" and am going to drop it as it is not very good.

(19,339 posts)Vanity Fair for its entertaining combo of Hollywood-worship, scandals of the super-rich, and excellent reporting. NYR for its intelligent examination of books, politics, art, history and current events.

They have great columnists like Katha Pollitt, and their feature articles often provide ground-breaking news which later gets picked up by the rest of the press.
