Police are responding to a shooting at Price Middle School in southeast Atlanta.

One student was shot, according to Channel 2 Action News.

Earlier reports incorrectly said the shooting occurred at Carver High School.

A teacher has been injured. One suspect is in custody.

A school spokesman contacted by the AJC could not initially confirm the shooting.

when will people stop thinking of their own fun with guns attitude and see then as killing tools? I have on ongoing argument with someone on another board - she does not want to limit clip because she will have to change clips more often when she it target shooting. DUH

because then it will stop being schools and become play grounds.

The location is not important, it is the gun that is the common denominator.

average American to the point where the real conversation is. But it's beginning to remind me of the mind-numbing drone (pun intended) that, like war, seem beyond the consciousness and active response available to most average people. Thus, it's left to those who are seriously affected...the victims and their families...to do the heavy lifting (rather than go into mind-numbing denial) until the nation arises in appropriate response.

We have not done that with "real war" as of yet, so not holding my breath about our domestic violence crisis. Does bring to mind the Biblical saying, "They who live by the sword shall die by the sword." It's not hard to translate into 21st century society.
