what will we say to him when he asks us " WTF were you guys thinking down there "?
The reason I ask is that it is clear to me now that Mankind could solve many of its problems right here, right now. We don't, however, because we allow ourselves to be controlled by a handful of wealthy Elites. We live our lives , in the system they created, as if there is nothing we can do about these issues. Some argue that we can solve problems if we " get involved " in the system. it doesn't seem that way to me.
In fact, it seems that the way things work is different than the way we were taught growing up. It seems that politicians receive there marching orders from whatever wealthy interest group that owns them and it is the job of those politicians to get these orders passed into law, regardless of the People's will. Naturally, these "orders" have to do with creating money and power for the elites. Of course, we are allowed to " debate " some issues. these are normally non-economic in nature, so the Elites have little interest ( other than using these issues to divide us ). So most of the "Discourse" is coffee house crap that people are allowed to vent their ( very real ) frustrations on with " Righteous Indignation ". Sure, these issues are important. But allowing yourself to be consumed by them diverts your attention from everything else that is going on.
And that is why you are allowed to debate those issues.
Anybody debating Drone warfare? The restoration of freedom of speech and the right to free assembly? The execution of wargames in US cities? Quantative Easing?
Maybe the system is fine; maybe I just need to write my congressional Reps ( again ) or donate more money...
I guess what I'm really thinking about is the Big Picture ( in regards for the way things are in our civilization ). Children starve every day, yet there is plenty of food. people are homeless, yet there is plenty of living space. People live their lives under enormous amounts of harmful stress ( mostly due to their job, debts or both ), yet there is no reason life has to be this way.
It just seems to me that some of these problems could be fixed, if it were not for the interference of the wealthy few.
If God asks, I will not have an answer, because I'm as much a Wage Slave as the next guy. I have marched in locked step with the rest of the debt culture; unable to even conceive of any other way of life.
Until now.
Maybe the elimination of the Federal Reserve and the return of the Greenback? maybe we just turn our backs on money altogether and put all our energy into sustainability? I dunno, but there must be a better way for man to exist than this.
Because this system just isn't working anymore...

Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent.
Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil?
Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God?

(12,448 posts)He talks about economics from an anthropological/archaeological perspective. One thing I learned is that the infamous "barter society" which is the foundation for all currency theory, has never, ever existed in the history of the world. If you have taken or ever take a basic economics class, it will almost certainly start with this mythological system.

Less than 400 people on this planet own and control more than 45% of this planet's resources, including HUMAN resources. The author of this OP was spot on when he called us "wage slaves," since radical income inequity has made slaves of 7,999,999,599+ of us.
