First major storm in two years. Forecasts here are for a foot, more than I can shovel way out here in the stix.
I am holed up here with plenty of food, heating oil, and wine. Now if the snow plow clears my road soon and my neighbor can get his tractor going to clear my driveway, I may be able to get out by Friday.
I have movies, lots of books to keep me company.
Hope the power stays on.

(114,904 posts)Personally, I'd rather this storm didn't dump on us too much here in Vermont, but my son is hoping to shred it in some deep powder. And we are used to it.

(40,416 posts)I don't mind the cold or a little snow. I have snow tires and can get through okay. But it may be days before I can get anywhere. My unpaved road is in a national forest culdesac, but fortunately a school bus route. My county is very rural, with no towns even approaching the title city. We have more deer here than humans.
I don't mind snow, but I do mind this much snow when it comes all at once. Snow storms like this hit us all hard.

(23,369 posts)We need snow, and lots of it, to help with the water level in the lakes. I'm sure it'll be a hassle getting home from work.
Stay safe and warm.

(1,536 posts)It's still a few hours away from us here in kalamazoo. I saw this morning that it had already started up north.
Roads were dry and clear this morning but it's going to be a fun drive home tonight.
Good luck.
