Gov. John Kasick of Ohio

First of all let me say he is not as bad as the idiots that Govern Michigan, Wisconsin and Florida. But by saying this I am setting the bar down below ground level.

That said Kasich is out of his mind. He is proposing rewriting the Ohio tax code. Small businesses and the state income tax gets a break which sounds good so far. To offset this he is proposing taxing 80 services including the following:

Ohio is a one party rule state so the the Republican state legislature stand a good chance of passing this budget. Honestly if Ted Strickland would have proposed something like this the state GOP would have expedited impeachment proceeding or a recall election in record time. Kasich already has irked unions and the working class in his term. I'm hoping this will seal the deal and make him a one-term governor. 2014 can't get here soon enough.

But it's only a tax hike for the 99%, so it is still a 'tax cut' to the people Kasich cares about. pampango Feb 2013 #5

although some billboards are amusing, they don't typically fit in anything called a parlor

...especially in the taxes on amusements and financial transactions...gotta have some coin to play those games. Just another governor trying to fill big revenue shortfalls...another byproduct of the decade plus of the dubya tax cuts. It's the age-old game of raising "fees" and then running for re-election claiming he "balanced the budget without raising taxes"...
