NBC isn't the only network objecting:

Several networks have asked the Mitt Romney campaign to stop airing an ad in Florida called Mr. Washington Insider which targets Newt Gingrich. The ad includes various news clips going back to Gingrichs days as House Speaker. NBC News has asked that the ad be pulled as it includes a clip from NBC Nightly News when it was anchored by Tom Brokaw. CNNs Anderson Cooper is also featured in the advertisement. CNN executives, too, have asked the Romney campaign to remove those clips from the spot. CBSs Jan Crawford, even Carole Simpson, who hasnt anchored at ABC News since 2003, are also included in the ad

(60,352 posts)1. This all has a familiar ring to it - using content without permission.
Remember back to 2008 when McCain and Palin were called out week after week to stop using music at their rallies?
The republicans seem to think that all content is fair use.
