Power Turned Off in Park After Dog Electrocuted

Power Turned Off in Park After Dog Electrocuted

COLUMBUS, Ohio - City crews cut the power to a Columbus park after a dog was electrocuted.
A woman told investigators she was walking her dog near a sidewalk Friday at Iuka Park in the University district when he was electrocuted, 10TV News reported.

A spokesperson for the Department of Public Utilities said workers found the ground contained a dangerous electrical current.

"As awful the situation was, we're thankful no one else was hurt," said Spokeswoman Laura Young Mohr.

The city believed the current is related to a recent improvement project in the area to light a bridge.
