In the link below, you will find an article denouncing the President and Health & Human Services Secretary Sebelius for mandating that all personal and group health plans cover birth control and sterilization treatments.
The Bishops are taken aback because it is beyond what they teach & practice. Sebelius says it is about preventive care and women's health.
You decide, I'm with the President and Sebelius on this issue

(1,635 posts)What happened to separation of church and state? And aren't they busy ridding their churches of god preachers who harm children? No need for birth control when you're bopping boys.....
May the Catholic Church burn to the ground.

(4,033 posts)no one is forcing them to utilize the covered services. I'm sure there are many women working for religious institutions who are using birth control or even have had an abortion.
I went to a catholic college and my very catholic roommate had an abortion.

(15,667 posts)The RW Catholic hierarchy is at it again....like they are in every election year! I saw this happen to Kerry when he got "denied" communion by one Bishop while Arnold was lunching with Cardinal Mahoney here in L.A. They were BOTH pro-choice -- it's always the excuse to harass the Dems. They never go after pro-choicers like Guiliani.
Tell them ENOUGH WITH PLAYING POLITICS. It's disgusting and taints the religion like nothing else (except child rape of course, which I don't see them get this angry about.)

(11,415 posts)Obama, Bush,Clinton, Bush, Carter and Reagan told the Jehovah Witness to GTH,too. This is RIDICULOUS!
A free democracy must work within the boundaries of law and national health. It is legal for women to have reproductive healthcare. A healthcare insurance program would be legally bound to include it.

(14,337 posts)who is using birth control? Odds are that these Catholic, or otherwise, employees use BC and are getting them somewhere else. Could this be used as a reason to FIRE these employees for violating the church's "morals" code?
