Looking back at the years of W, and the relative quiet. . . . quiet? fuck no. ABSOLUTE SILENCE about his governing technique from most democrats, it struck me how different the parties really are. At least in style.
We, when we do attack, use facts and be honest in our appraisals and comments.
GOPers, on the other hand lie like an oriental rug. They simply have no shame.
Look at the RNC chair and his likening Obama to the captain of that Italian cruise ship.
Now, tell me. Who was president when 9/11 hit us? Who ignored CIA warnings about an upcoming attack? Who appointed a complete idiot as his National Security Council chair (and who did not even know who al Qaida was when she started) Who destroyed our surplus with tax breaks for the rich? Who destroyed our economy with an unfunded war? Then started a second one before the first was done? Who lied about WMD? Who planted fake evidence with national papers? Who illegally used military and retired military to pull the wool over our eyes, in a propaganda move that Goebbels would have admired?
For three years, this president has been picking up after the last regime, fixing their self-made problems, dealing with insane nut jobs in Congress, getting out of a war, and getting health care passed, and they claim that he's the failure?
Other than the fact that it would really destroy whatever honor we have, I sometimes feel like we should get into the same gutter as the Go Pee, just because it would feel good. Then again, being honest and accurate is also pleasing on a different level.

(11,064 posts)Dick Cheney went on TV, admitted his complicity in personally giving the green light for water-boarding (which some of us in the civilized world call torture), and went home or to one of his homes without being prosecuted. He didn't even receive a rebuke from Obama.
You mentioned Geobbels. Did Obama got health care passed? Is that truly what happened? Are we all required to say that? Or can we observe out loud that he got the mandatory purchase of health insurance from private companies passed?
That was an idea, a profitable one for the insurance companies, which originated with Senator Grassley, a Republican who rightfully does not have a reputation as a populist. If you want to cheer about the requirement for the mandatory purchase of health insurance, why not credit Grassley for that?
You say that there is a difference. I agree, but not necessaryily in the same way. A major difference that I see is that they attend different fundraisers.

Turns out i was too liberal and when I questioned Iraq WMDs, they threw me out. That, and I called Rice incompetant. Last thing i saw, some of them tried to start a draft Rice for President site.
