The term Attention Whore

This discussion thread was locked as off-topic by REP (a host of the General Discussion forum).

Well, I have been around DU a long time. I don't post too often, but this is a first to me. Apparently it is ok to refer to Michelle Malkin, Ann Coulter, Sarah Palin {none of whom I like or have any respect for} and a host of other right wing women as Media Whores as found by google search, but call Media Benjamin and Dennis Kucinich media whores ( Spending time on Fox News trashing the President and Democrats) and your post gets hidden by a 4-2 jury vote.

I was certainly not referring to Ms Benjamin or Mr Mr Kucinich sexuality, but their willingness to say anything to get on TV, even Fox.

Is it ok to use the term media whore when talking of a man and not ok when talking of a woman. I used the term in a gender neutral way by mentioning them both.

What is a better term to use?

But only in the gender-neutral sense of the word slut.

the fact a fairly sizable minority of DU rs are Kucinich apologists.

You apparently have had a run in with said group.

Many of those of us on the liberal side feel appreciation and respect for Kucinich and other liberals, in a way we definitely don't feel any kind of appreciation for those right wingers such as Malkin or Coulter.

many of them completely miss the point - it's the roll of the dice, bottomofthehill - sometimes they get it and sometimes they simply DO NOT

Kind of surprised you don't recall noticing it if you find it disconcerting.

I mean really, what a fucking transparent horseshit post of character assination.

Both those two have done more in a few hours then you probably have in a lifetime for progressive causes.

It appears DU is not DB free zone.
