Science has confirmed what some of us long suspected but were (sometimes) too polite to say: People who hold racist and rabid right-wing views are, to put it bluntly, stupid, or at least stupider than other people. A new study finds that children with low intelligence grow into Tea Party-ish adults who hold socially conservative views and would like black, gay and other troublesome types to just go away, please. It is suspected that some of these people will not be happy with the findings and may even take to the streets with signs like this. As always, we wish them better spelling.

(19,240 posts)the working class poor and powerless. Racism is not a natural state of being. We do not naturally hate someone because their hair is curlier than ours. We hate them because powerful interests put a lot of effort into making us hate and fear them. This keeps workers from forming unions, collective bargaining etc.
So yeah, the only foot soldiers the corporate fascist movement can recruit are the dumb as a bag of rocks kind. Because the smart ones are all union members.

(6,670 posts)For you non-discordians:
The law of fives asserts that every natural and human phenomenon is related to the number five, or the numbers two and three, which add to five, or the number 23, which is of course 2 and 3 and also adds to five - here's the crucial part - given enough ingenuity on the part of the researcher.
Though I 'm still wondering if this guy is asserting a specific equivalence between "Barack Hussein Obama" and "A Man Caused Disaster", or that EVERY sentence of 18 letters (they tied it up in a bag, 18 letters, adapted from Look What They've Done To My Song, by Melanie, or Omit Needless Words!, 18 letters counting the exclamation, from Strunk & White) is somehow ontologically equivalent.
