(4,751 posts)Supposedly she was a ballerina for 10 years after (? I assume) college. How did she go from that, and her art and religion studies, to a well-paid position as a pundit?
Who made that happen for her? Is it the same person who writes the crib notes she appears to check frequently when she speaks on the Cycle?
How can the rest of us score a gig like hers? I would gladly make dumbass comments about things I don't understand. Heck, I'd even put on some schoolmarm glasses to at least look like I'm not ignorant.

(4,751 posts)Were there no Sarah Palin-ish journalism, history, or poli sci graduates to hold the cutesy chair on The Cycle? Cupp's background makes one wonder how she qualified for this job, no?

(27,787 posts)The story that I have heard is that the Conservative movement has, for years, been recruiting "cheerleaders". That is, actual cheerleaders.
People who are attractive and who would make great sales people because they are always smiling and happy to be in front of people.
These people need no other skills other than the ability to "repeat the cheer".
Apparently, she wrote a very Conservative book attacking the liberal media. I first saw her on Larry King debating Stephanie Miller.
But she's just a cheerleader, one who looks like Palin.
