Catapulting the propaganda...

"See, in my line of work, you got to keep repeating things over and over and over again for the truth to sink in, to kind of catapult the propaganda." GW Bush

Is it possible to "catapult the propaganda" of FOX News, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, and dozens of other propagandists of the right?

Does the truth or facts even faze them? They believe what they are told to believe and anything liberal is suspect and discounted in their eyes. Perhaps that is the new political reality for both Parties?

But, when a person gets to the point that they will believe black is white, day is night, hot is cold, when facts are discounted depending on whether the person stating the facts is a conservative or not, then what are the chances of getting anything accomplished?

That is where we are today, in my opinion. We are not able to catapult the propaganda. And the right believes their supporters will believe whatever they say without question. Our country is deeply divided and the truth and facts are tossed aside with no more than a glimpse or shrug.

The latest example is the manner in which the right are attempting to convince their followers that the "sequester" idea totally belongs to Barack Obama and the Republicans had nothing to do with it. And we are simply not able to catapult that propaganda.

because the one percent in both parties are preparing to do something that is very politically dangerous. They want to slash our social safety nets and steal the money, when the vast majority of Americans across party lines are vehemently opposed.

They spread Republican propaganda that Obama is *solely* responsible and inflame Democrats who know that is not the truth. Meanwhile, we are urged to spread the word here that Republicans are *solely* at fault, which also is not the truth, but enrages their base.

The truth is that the entire crisis was manufactured in a bipartisan way by the one percent who live in both parties. Starting with the faux debt ceiling Kabuki in the spring, the goal of the corporatists in both parties was to set in motion a chain of events that could not have any possible outcome but austerity. Of course, they succeeded.

The one percent need us rallied fervently into our Red and Blue teams and hating each other so that we cannot even conceive of uniting against them as they come after our Social Security and Medicare.

I don't really see it as a Democrat vs. Republican thing. That seems like theater to me. Almost like pro wrestling.

Instead I see people who want to cut benefits vs. people trying to protect America.

It is not bad just because it is deceptive and dishonest, it is also dangerous. Oh, what a tangled web we weave...
