Raising awareness of teen dating violence

BONNE TERRE , MO February is teen dating violence awareness month and Kohm is one of the guidance counselors at North County High School.

Kohm talked to FACS Instructor Amy Lee’s class about the different kinds of abuse. Lee said as teachers they see it all the time.

“It doesn’t always have to be physical,” she said.

Kohm explained that abusive behavior can be physical, emotional/verbal, sexual, financial or even digital. It’s something one person in a relationship uses to control the other. The key word is “control.”
