(5,044 posts)It was a great show in the beginning, but as the years have passed, Joe has revealed himself to be a smarter version of Hannity.
I clicked over for just a moment and I caught about 5 sentences when Joe was talking about how he loved to beat his opponent so bad in elections that the individuals family would be embarrassed of them. Which is so typical...
Willy Giest has also turned out to be one smug ass as well. Too bad...

(5,842 posts)What's funny is that not a few minutes earlier he was laying into CPAC for their selection of the "hate and divide" crowd to be the featured speakers at this year's event.

(6,996 posts)In the early morning, getting oneself together to face the day, most people want to know what's new.
Local stations offer the weather, traffic, headlines, etc.
CNN covers world and national news.
c-span does the Congress and DC goings on.
MSNBC 6-9am ET is a freak show. Mika sits there, head down, like a battered spouse. The panel all have the look of hostages
afraid to anger the egotistical and raving host. Mika will look at the morning papers but very little news coverage.

(16,993 posts)Guess she's supposed to just look pretty, but otherwise shut the hell up. She purses her lips, rolls her eyes, opens her mouth like she's going to speak, then puts her head down and largely remains quiet.
Joe is so full of himself, if someone stuck a pin in him, he'd pop. And is there a show where he doesn't say, "When I was in Congress, we..."? I get so sick of that, like nothing has changed since he was in Congress.
I guess if a guest were to confront Joe with the facts, they'd never appear on the show again if Joe had any say about it.
Difficult to watch at best, and I often change the channel or leave the room when Joe goes off on one of his trips to fantasy land.

(63,912 posts)month. Even Joe Nocera got on my nerves today by comparing FEMA's response to New Orleans and to the Rockaways after Sandy. There was NO acknowledgment that W's FEMA was a dysfunctional government agency and Katrina happened on his watch...

(70,516 posts)Joe has deep anger and ethical problems and he sees his job as to
push the party line all the time pretending to be a reasonable republican
who wants both sides to work together for the good of the country.
As long as he is on that show that is what he will do. I wish MSNBC would
replace him with Soledad O'Brein.

(2,730 posts)what his rant will be about every morning. It will be about Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid. It will also be why want President Obama compromise or in other words cave in to Boehner, Cantor and McConnell's demands to cut the Big three.
He uses Newt Gingrich and President Clinton as a good example of compromise. I think the facts are being twisted the way I remember.

(2,730 posts)to see when he will have the guts to invite someone that will challenge his ass! He keeps ranting about Krugman, but why don't he have the guts to debate him to his face! The only people he invites to his show are people that are passive or agrees with him. If it was me, I would take him on! Point number one, Social Security has nothing to do with the Deficit! Even Ronald Reagan figured that out!
He sets the discussion every morning around that! There are 315 million people in this country. All of them aren't dumb! Fixing Social Security for years in the future has nothing to do with the current rise of that 17 trillion dollar Debt of today. The same for Medicare. The people he is using for his argument,to receive it in the future, donot receive it now. They are currently paying into them now and not receiving anything. They are not currently contributing to any rising costs.
The problems are rising costs of services for the same services people received years ago. People giving those services are much more greedier for profits. I have nothing against people making a good living and getting a profit for their services, but it has to be reasonable. There needs to be limits on what people charge. That is where the discussion needs to go but Joe tries to move the discussion away from that. As far as the current Debt, revenues have been going down because the top has been getting tax breaks over the last decade and breaks for the middleclass and the Poor has stagnated. We do not need to cut things that hurt them anymore. Compare how many Billionaires and millionaires are in this country to 10 years ago. It has doubled and even tripled. They have not created a good economy for jobs by getting there either. Most people crying about taxes are them. They rather continue hurting everyone than pay taxes.
The big excuse is they are not spending, because they are not sure what the Government will do about taxes. The problem with that is, they have been doing that for the last twelve years.
