Both Dems and Repubs alike have been calling for "shared sacrifice" and using that to justify reducing benefits under so-called entitlement programs. That would fine if the playing field was level. However, as we all know, the wealthy have been enjoying record profits and income for many years while the rest of us have struggled. So, keep your hands off my social security and medicare until the field levels.
