Upon Reviewing The Situation I Am Beginning To Feel The US Is Becoming One Big Insane Asylum

You just cannot keep up with all the nuts in the GOP, teabag party, libertarians, gun nuts, fundy nuts evangelicals, NRA, CPAC. etc etc etc.

It's like being in the movie "One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest". The GOP and teabaggers need a frontal lobotomy.

1. It's an incredibly unhealthy place to live

where work comes first and always and family comes last. There is no leisure, no time to reflect on things, people who have vacation time are afraid to take it and are expected to stay hooked to the office via smart phone at all times. It's where if we have access to health care, we're afraid to use it or can't afford to use it due to copays. Our food has been adulterated and degraded, our good jobs that made things we could be proud of have gone offshore, and the kind of jobs that shovel all the shit we can eat has replaced them.

There is no joy in US culture, the slave driving corporate class has robbed it all along with the pay that used to support us and give us hope for a better future.

Hopeless, joyless people are going to get angry about it after a while and that's what we're seeing right now. That's why the OWS movement was crushed so brutally. They showed people who and what were sucking the life out of them and that was dangerous.

It's not going to last forever. It can't. However, the longer we're denied a peaceful revolution, the more likely a violent one becomes.

3. We Are Made To Feel Guilty

Are you aging? They have a way of twisting your golden years with a golden spike in your back. You earned your S.S yet they call it a free ride. You worked for and still pay on Medicare yet they insist you are draining the "honest" tax payers. This is why they love those saving accounts for things like medical care. They make you feel a failure if you use it before the year is up. You are not expected to ever need a personal day,a sick day. Vacations should still force you to be in contact with work "in case they need you" without any pay for it.
The extreme right expect you to be married before you are sexual active and then they expect you to turn the wife into a breeding machine. Decide to have no kids? It's a sin! You must breed! We must have future soldiers for another one of their holy wars. Don't believe in a higher power? You are the sick one. You are the heathen. You are not allowed to be a free thinker even though that is what was pounded in our heads as kids. We were taught that we were the good guys because we had the freedom of choice to pray as we wanted, say what we wanted, live where we wanted. But we found out quick enough that much of that was a crock and it is still a crock and the crock is getting more cracked every year.
In the sixties we had so much to fight for, protest for so mold our future. Today there is so much wrong, going wrong, turned sour that we could be fighting 24/7 and still have work to do yet the streets are relatively quiet. The only yelling is on hate radio. Where are the people? We had huge voter turn outs and yet they are silent. They are not getting their opinions--their votes represented fairly but where are they?

Obviously, this was the plan.

I remember during the GWB years, there was a new outrage every day -- before you had time to react, there was another outrage. And so it went - for years. And so it continues.

So sad.

12. and we are told we live in a democracy.

But the workplace is anything but a democracy. Its a dictatorship with the CEO or owner the dictator. Working conditions have deteriorated over the last 30 years and we are filled with fear to try and say anything except "yes sir".

guilt, shame, inferiority, humiliation, etc.

It's a deliberate tactic and it's done to everyone they want to get over on.

Which should teach us not to buy into it when it's done to others.

I can't count the times I've seen people buy into it when it's someone else on the firing line.

beautifully to your thought. I will also say that, when you wage war on half of your population, and expect them to quietly sit there while you work to destroy them, that is not a very smart move.

6. So many of them are drifting off to crazyland in their insulated right-wing bubbles.

Increasingly, they don't even know what the liberal rationale is - all they do is go, "Democrats....bad!" And without ever engaging the other side in serious discussion, their views get wackier and wackier, and nobody challenges them. Thus the increasing tendency on their side to believe in really, really crazy conspiracy theories.

Wingnuts I know who were once capable of forming delcarative sentences are now reduced to reciting strings of catch phrases and dropping names and none of it makes any sense at all to anyone but another extreme wingnut. Maybe not even then.

They have been driven quite insane and they're making less and less sense the longer it goes on.

We passed becoming with Reagan. Now we be going. Going where I am not sure, but it does seem to be all downhill.

But after that, Chief, you throw the panel through the window, and we can all get the hell out of here.

Feel like a nice ride in the country?
