I just saw the clip of him using the occasion of apologizing for his predecessors and then giving his badge to Congressman John Lewis.

(2,730 posts)apology is good to, but I have to throw a nugget in there. The demographics of Montgomery Alabama has changed since the 1970s. It was over sixty percent white back then and 34 percent Black. Today, it is over 57 percent Black and only 34 percent white. The rest are also minorities. It is a microcosm of the changing Demographics in America. It could be something due to the environment that he is a product of. I understand he wasn't even born. It would be like apologizing for the Confederacy.
