36 Hours That Changed The Republican Party — Libertarians Believe Their Moment Has Finally Arrived

http://www.businessinsider.com/libertarians-say-that-rand-pauls-historic-filibuster-fundamentally-changed-the-republican-party-2013-3

Brian Doherty.

Kentucky Republican Sen. Rand Paul has emerged from his 13-hour filibuster as a national political leader, having unexpectedly unified divergent wings of the Republican Party on the issue of civil liberties.

For libertarians, Paul's filibuster — and the groundswell of support for it across the conservative spectrum — was a crowning moment, signaling their reintegration into the mainstream Republican Party, which has largely dismissed, and even mocked, libertarian notions about civil liberties in the decade since the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.

"This was a very big deal. In 36 hours, the Republican Party has completely changed," said Brian Doherty, a senior editor at Reason magazine who has been covering the Paul movement for two decades.

You literally saw the shift happen over the course of the day," Doherty said. "It started with Rand Paul, and then it was just [Sens.] Mike Lee and Ted Cruz. And then you had people like Marco Rubio and Saxby Chambliss joining in. And by the end of it, [Republican Minority Leader] Mitch McConnell was on the floor saying he was going to block [CIA Director John] Brennan's confirmation, and [RNC Chairman] Reince Priebus was tweeting that Senators should go join Rand Paul."

David Duke, and Ron and Rand Paul must be 3 Sheets to the Wind (and six eye holes to play too)

or as they say
okkkay then.

Any democratic person who values social issues that supports another Naderistic overthrow of the voters wishes, well, more I cannot say, and I will say no more.

imho and the opinion of probably 300MILLION other people.(guestimate).

Libertarians in the US are bigoted far right wing paranoid delusional corporate kiss asses. Their nasty rhetoric is what fueled the let him die if he has no insurance during the election. If anything libertarians are destroying the republican party. They've changed it for the worse.

Fucking bullshit that they give a fuck about civil liberties. Where the fuck were they when the Patriot Act was passed? I'll tell you, they were the ones saying, "If you're not doing anything wrong or don't have anything to hide, what's the problem?" Fuck theses foul cretins professing a fake-ass concern with civil liberties. They're conservative, regressive, political hacks. They can get bent.

I would be very happy if we didnt have to fight Republicans on Social issues or civil liberties issues.

If the Republican Party has changed about all that in 36 hours last week, one major piece of proof would be Republican legislators all over the country introducing bills to legalize gay marriage where it has not been legalized.

That is what a Libertarian would do. Unfortunately it is not going to happen. Nor are any of the other things that a Libertarian would do going to happen.

But nowhere near as funny.

He and his racist pappy are Authoritarian Corporatists down to the soles of their shoes, neither has a problem with using the force of goverment against those they see as 'inferior' to them.

For instance, no real Libertarian can be against a woman's right to choose, yet so many of them fail to see how that issue shows them to be the hypocrites that they truly are.

In their own minds, at least. They know nothing else but their moment. Have fun, folks. You're still a tiny minority.
