And turned off SNL. The first scene was total ignorance and stupidity towards Hugo Chavez. I might turn it back on but come on SNL really?

I always watch when he hosts.
That first skit opening the show had us laughing.
He does a great job on the show.

(154,021 posts)Sorry to be so blassee, but I do not expect brilliant political commentary from an entertainer. Sometimes I am surprised.
Rex
(65,616 posts)and though he has some acting chops - I wouldn't ever expect him to run for office or pontificate about politics much if at all.

That skit was very funny.

(3,014 posts)and worked his way up through the blue collar ranks of production for 16 years to become a stage manager and now a production manager....I love Justin Timberlake. Guy has unbelievable talent. Great comedic timing. Not crazy about his music. But have nothing but respect for him.
I am middle of the road on Chavez. A song about him shortly after his death doesn't seem like a reasonable thing to even get upset about...even if it is satire.

(34,658 posts)Seriously. How much do you think most people watching SNL knew or care to know about Hugo Chavez?
MineralMan
(146,288 posts)Somehow, I just can't see how those words go together.
I do not respect entertainers, except for their ability to entertain. I don't remember being entertained by Justin Timberlake. As for his opinion on other matters, it is completely irrelevant.
