If Fineman got it right, I will pledge right now before my DU sisters and brothers (even though I can scarcely afford it) $100 to her campaign. My solemn oath.

(7,768 posts)She'll have tons of money and she'll need it. I think it's doable.
Turtle-Head will get dirty and down, expect it.

(54,065 posts)Is there a dearth of viable state-wide Kentucky Democrats? Does Ashley Judd have a strong record of activism within the state? I know she's been politically outspoken and socially active in the past, but I've never heard of her community involvement being rooted in her home state in particular.
With other celebrities-turned-politicians (both rumored and actual)--Al Franken in Minnesota, Alec Baldwin in New York, Ben Affleck in Massachusetts, Gopher from the Love Boat in Iowa, Ben Jones in Georgia--there was long before some strong social & community ties to the state.
What is the particular logic behind Ashley Judd and Kentucky?

(17,111 posts)are looking at running for governor. Judd has long ties to the state and has the backing of some powerful people in Kentucky.
She's smart, tough, and won't take any shit off of McConnell or anybody else.
