Most Americans view the Social Security as exactly what it is: A system that they pay-into while they are working and that they get back out when they retire. U.S. Senator Ron Johnson has a different view, saying in a February 22 speech, that Social Security is "candy" that the "Left is giving away":

The Left is giving away candy, you don't even have to buy it, they're giving it away and its tasty stuff! And what are we faced with as conservatives? We're the folks sitting on the sidelines saying "ugh... I know you like that candy, but here's the problem: It's caused a cavity... nah, it's even worse than that... that cavity has abscessed... and its worse than that.. that cavity has caused an infection and its in the body and if we don't cure it, you're going to die." So the Left is still saying, "No, no don't worry about that, you know, Social Security is still solvent," the Left keeps saying, "No, keep eating that candy, its really good for yuh" and we're the ones saying, "No, we got the shot novocaine and we got the drill." Do you understand the challenge?

Ugh, this man makes me physically ill.

Here's a man that is worried about a program people pay for with deductions from their payroll that is solvent, because his party uses that money to help cover that fact they blow tons of debt on financing two wars, tax cuts for the rich, bank bailouts, tax loopholes, government subsidies for industries making record profit... etc.

He's that 5th dentist that doesn't recommend brushing your teeth because he makes money filling your cavities.
