(13,305 posts)They know they'll have enough cover from Democrats who agree with them and enable them that at best it will be considered "bipartisan" and at worse they'll just lie and say Democrats cut those things.

I work for the federal government, where for the last 2 years we've had a pay freeze...and the Republicans have been out front about cutting the federal workforce by 10% as well as denying a pay raise that President Obama recommended!
But, I'll bet that many federal workers still voted for Republicans and even voted for Romney...you want logic, go watch the original Star Trek series!

(611 posts)Culture warriors, apocalyptic theocrats, those who want a culture of punishment, anyone they manage to confuse with election advertising, possibly persons frightened by some future disaster or crisis, anti-taxation advocates, the mega-wealthy, those who believe "both sides do it", voters charmed by some possible charismatic Teapublican candidate, Randroids, mean people who suck, disgruntled conservative Democrats, members of militias, and... others.
In the future, no one will vote except Teapublicans, though. Because voter restriction measures.
