The MSNBC glass is half empty, dammit!

The programing shuffle of Ed Schultz announced yesterday received some angry reaction.

What is happening is that Ed's one-hour weekday evening show will go to someone else, and Ed will start new two-hour shows on Saturday and Sunday.

Personally, I think that MSNBC adding new political programing on weekend evenings to replace their current programing (years-old repeats of shows about videos of car crashs) is a greater positive than the negative of Ed going from five hours a week to four hours a week.

5. I am hoping that he will define the issues on Saturday and then refute the lies of Sunday morning

It might be nice to hear a voice in response to the morning "Sunday Talk Shows". The political programming on Sunday mornings is and has been decidedly right-wing and it goes unchallenged for the most part. If Ed does that sunday nights he will be doing the nation a service.

I'm not a big fan of Ed but I never miss Chris on the weekends. At least the first hour. I've got competing shows that are far more informative. Not talking head crap but serious interviews or analysis stuff.
I love that Ed gets to those blue collar types like me that bought in to the Reagan BS and gives them a more realistic view of the world. It may not be in depth analysis but it provides a gateway to a more informed view of the world. That's a critical job and he does it pretty well.
Chris and MHP are great as well but geared to a different audience. I think the swap will be a good deal but I think they should also build on a good thing and add more in depth and investigative programs or special reports.

Maybe someday soon we will never have to hear Rachel say, "And now, prison!" again.

So who will replace Chris on the weekend morning slot?
