Theme: "A PHOTOGRAPHER'S FAVORITE"
We who take photos sometimes end up with a shot we love and want to show off.
No rhyme or reason to it oftentimes, mostly it is just personal.
It may not fit into the theme of a contest, and we forget about it. So this month we dusted off our archives and pulled out a favorite to post for everybody to see and vote on.
We have 3 preliminary threads, as always. Please take the time to vote in all 3 of them. If the recommendations get to be numerous, I think the threads will come out to the front page, so please recommend and kick the threads.

We really appreciate your interest and participation, and we love having this opportunity to show off our passion/hobby/love as represented in our photographs.
The preliminaries will run for 3 days. The finals will start on the 21st and run for 3 days.
Then I'll announce the winners.
Skinner has authorized this contest to be run in GD.

(22,541 posts)Commanding. They both command your presence in different ways. In Solitude you want to meditate in that beautiful, misty space. In Intensity, you simply cannot look away from the cat.
It's been exciting seeing these for the first time!
Great photos!
Thanks, Mira!

(10,597 posts)... because the kitty looks just like my Einstein. Smartest kitty in the litter, even though he was the runt. The resemblance is stunning. I miss him so much!

(10,597 posts)It's a contest winner, and not just on DU. It's Madison Avenue, if you get my drift. How on earth did the photographer get that picture? Probably someone holding it. There had to be allot of snapping of the camera going on. Really, I wonder how many views the photographer had to take to get this one that was absolutely perfect? It is a happy docile cat, is all I can say.
My cats would have been out of there on the first click!

(8,039 posts)vote for one of your favs to catch up on (some know what I mean) or for the first one to just out at you and instead give your vote to the quiet one that keeps you coming back to look at again and again.
Very hard decision to make though.

Enjoy. It is a magnificent piece, of course.
I answered instead of the photographer, since we can't divulge identities.

I finally chose "Morning Light" because it is a really wonderful composition of a landscape photo.
