Huge Favor to ask of DUers (please keep kicked - thx)
I know this is not GD material, but most people here on DU who are familiar with Wishadoo! are on GD, since this is where I post Wishadoo!'s "Help a DUer" posts. Please see my journal if you're not familiar with me or Wishadoo.
Sooooo, a fellow DUer has a BRILLIANT idea that involves Wishadoo!'s Marketplace (see my previous post about this). This DUer has something very clever to auction, and it could get the attention of some of our favorites on The Comedy Channel, especially Mr. Stephen Colbert. 
If we can get their attention -- which will be the hardest part -- it can help Wishadoo!, everyone who has a presence on Wishadoo! (Wishlist, Directory, Marketplace, Blogs), as well as this fellow DUer's start-up business tremendously to at least drive traffic to the sites, as well as hopefully raise money for both. I'm trying everything I can that is free (no marketing/advertising funds) to spread the word and gather more people at Wishadoo! The more who gather, the more we can help one another in various ways.
Which brings me to another element of this project. It would bring in the Glenn Beck connection. Here is the link to read the transcript of Glenn Beck's TV/radio show from that day in which Wishadoo! is mentioned twice. Now, Mr. Beck didn't overtly diss Wishadoo!, but alluded to the mission statement which includes words like "compassion, cooperation, mutual benefit" being part of the same fascist/communist/socialist/Nazi conspiracy as all the other organizations he listed during that show (evil unions were a big part of it).
The mere mention of Wishadoo! was enough to generate a stalking trend for several months. 
I received quite a few threats from his loyal followers, via email, on the website, on Facebook, even a few phone calls from the more ambitious fans.
Now, here is the huge favor:
In order to get the attention of Mr. Colbert and others, I need to gather testimonials from people familiar with Wishadoo!, whether they've helped, been helped or simply appreciate what Wishadoo! is all about and what I'm trying to do. I know that those who are able to help others in some way (even if it's simply lending emotional support or resource suggestions) are often the ones most gratified by the process.
I don't have a smart phone or a camera or webcam, so I always feel paralyzed about these multimedia things. I also don't have any creative juices flowing about this yet, but I'm thinking anyone who supports Wishadoo! at all could maybe write a brief testimonial and take a pic with it (like we saw with all those 98% photos) or even record a brief clip if they have video on their phone or computer or what not.
Or just testimonials/thoughts about compassion, cooperation, The Common Good and community in general, as that IS Wishadoo. 
We could get very creative...I just can't think of anything at this moment, but wanted to put it out there for all of you brilliant people to ponder.
THOUGHTS? SUGGESTIONS?

I'm still horribly negligent about making use of that tool. But, I shall follow Mr. Colbert now in anticipation of trying to get his attention!

The DUer in question is brilliant, so when she has Colbert in mind as a perfect fit for these selections, I know it's good stuff.
The Wishadoo! marketplace was just upgraded, so I'm getting familiar with the changes; I'm trying to get people on board to please help me create SOMETHING as a video testimonial for Wishadoo (no one has offered to do anything yet, still hoping for simple pics w/someone holding a sign with a few words or message, like the 98%'er pics); and the other DUer is still going through inventory.
I'll be sure to let you know when it moves forward in any way so we can try to get Colbert's attention.
