Poudre Fire Authority firefighters are working to stop the spread of the wind-fueled Soldier Canyon Fire spreading near Lory State Park west of Fort Collins.
According to the Larimer County Sheriffs office, at least 40 acres and one structure are involved in the wildfire. It is unknown if the structure is a house or another type of building, and the extent of fire damage it received, according to a release. No injuries have been reported.
At 1:30 p.m., the previously predominantly southbound wind shifted to the east, blowing the growing plume of smoke from the fire directly above the city of Fort Collins. Firefigters conversing on emergency radio traffic have said the fire has fingered out to various areas east of where it started.
