Sheik Shaker Elsayed, the imam of the Dar al-Hijrah Mosque in Falls Church, Va., advocated armed jihad before an Ethiopian Muslim group gathered at T.C. Williams High School in Alexandria, Va. last week.

“Muslim men when it is a price to pay, they are first in line,” Elsayed said in comments seen on a YouTube video found by the Creeping Sharia blog. “They are the first in the prayer line. They are the first in the zakat (charity) line. They are the first in the hajj line. They are the first in the clean-up line. They are the first in the community-service line. They are the first in jihad line. They are the first in the da’wa line.”

“But they are last if anything is being distributed, unless it is arms for jihad,” Elsayed said. “We are the first to rush and run to defend our community and defend ourselves. The enemies of Allah are lining up; the question for us is, ‘Are we lining, or are we afraid because, because they may call us terrorists.’”

Juror #6 voted to HIDE IT and said: RW site and post is Racist anti Muslim inciting bullshit Who the fuck thinks this is funny?

----

Ok, I agree mostly with the jury on this as I should have used other sources.

Above you can watch the video yourself.

You can vote to hide this one as well - but how many folks here on DU look at the sites when people post anti-catholic things?

Do we ever hear "Oh, well that is racist and anti-catholic"?

I don't hate muslims. Or jews, or catholics.

I posted what I did because I think maybe we should reflect a little on the hatred we are spewing...to wit:

Catholic Priests number about 412,236 and yet it is just fine here to pull out the few who mess up and brand the many over it.

Not so fun when you apply it to other groups now is it? Suddenly folks get sensitive over it all.

I am not catholic. Barely Christian one could say (mostly agnostic).

But funny how people call it hate when applied to one group and not to another. Funny how we go out of our way to find out who is behind posting such things (as far as the web sites) when it comes to one group and not another.

When is it hate speech? And what do we mean by that (the term hate speech)?

I am glad the jury hid what I posted.

I wish they would do that more often in a fair manor across the board when they see such things.

But then, perhaps, some hate speech is OK with some folks - posting negative things about one group is more accepted than when it is against another.

How about we spend more time posting less negative things and more positive about such groups?

Or as I said elsewhere:

A few things by the numbers

are not necessarily the same people that go ballistic when any criticism of Muslims comes up. Yes, that would be hyprocrtical. Just like it would be hypocritical to congratulate others for the appointment of a homophobic misogynist because he's a religious leader, but condemn every other homophobic misogynist out there.

I think various forms of Islam should be criticized just as harshly. In the US, it's not as visible and has less power of course, so we don't see it as much on the message boards.

I still see people advocating burying dead Muslims in pig skins. I have never seen anyone advocating we nail dead Catholics to a cross and toss 'em underground.

When people shit-talk the Pope or Catholic Church, churches don't catch fire and we don't hear a steady drumbeat for the mass murder of Italians via bombing campaigns. Catholics aren't dragged out of their cars and beaten with tire irons. We do not use Catholicism as an excuse to train and arm terrorists in the hope of bringing down the governments of Catholic Strongholds like Romania or Brazil. Catholics are not positioned and characterized as a hateful scourge of insects and demons waiting to destroy every man, woman, and children that doesn't agree with them. The televisions do not fill up with "Communion experts" who tell us stories of ritual cannibalism leading to a brutish and barbaric society, that must be cured by application of violence.

When shit-talk about Islam arises, it's often part and parcel with mosque arsons, throwing turbaned men in front of trains, and calls for bombing Mecca, nuking Iraq, assassination this or that Muslim leader, installing crippling sanctions to punish millions of people for not believing in white blue-eyed Jesus, and very serious assumptions that all Muslims are an identical subhuman horde that pose an existential threat to the other six billion humans on the face of the earth. Muslims are assumed to be some sort of "breed" when this shit starts, rather than members of a religion, and that breed is inherently wrong and evil and must be done away with.

Not all of it is so extreme, of course, and Islam certainly isn't above question by any means. But there are actually reasons why people might be a little quicker on the uptake there.
