NEW YORK -- Former singer-songwriter Michelle Shocked has signed a contract to become a contributor to Fox News and will appear for the first time on the network on Hannity tonight. Fox said that Shocked would appear on "various" network programs during both the day and in primetime.
"Ms. Shocked's dedication to out-of-the-box thinking on key issues makes her an important voice in the country, and we are looking forward to her contributions across all Fox News platforms," said Bill Shine, executive vice president of programming, in a statement.
Shocked's career ended in March 2013 in San Francisco when she made anti-gay statements during a performance. There's some speculation that Shocked could explore a run for a heavily Republican district seat of the California Assembly in 2016, and this move could be a stepping stone for that platform.
"I am looking forward to commenting on the issues of the day and challenging our elected officials to put our countrys needs first instead of their own partisan interests," Shocked said in a statement.
