Blair Cornered on War Crimes - Even BBC s on his case

By Michael Collins
The Agonist

If leaders may lie, then who should tell the truth? Desmond Tutu

Tony Blair's war crimes are official, well almost official. Tonight, the BBC’s Panorama will roll out yet more serious evidence that Tony Blair knew Saddam Hussein had NO weapons of mass destruction for months prior to the United States – British invasion of Iraq.
“Fresh evidence is revealed today about how MI6 and the CIA were told through secret channels by Saddam Hussein’s foreign minister and his head of intelligence that Iraq had no active weapons of mass destruction.

“Tony Blair told parliament before the war that intelligence showed Iraq’s nuclear, chemical, and biological weapons programme was active, growing and up and running.” Richard Norton-Taylor, Guardian, March 18

Specifically, according to Panorama, British intelligence had a critical meeting in Amman, Jordan three months before the invasion. The head of Saddam Hussein’s intelligence agency confirmed that there were no WMD. The British Dodgy Dossier was published days after this information was gathered. That Google generated fabrication pushed for war and conveniently left out the Amman intelligence. This is both fraud and conspiracy to commit fraud.

Be aware that on this 10th anniversary of the beginning of "Shock & Awe" there will be some very clever push back. That article that you link to on the BBC website (that alone should raise a red flag) very cutely places the whole clusterfuck on two spies "who fooled the world" - notably the CIA and Britain's M16, which is a total crock of shite as they say in Blighty. We're talking about "Curveball" and another shyster named Muhammad Harith. (He's the one that peddled the mobile biological laboratories scam) And the article actually wants us to believe that these two yo-yos had the two top intel agencies on the planet swallowing that bullshit. Really?

Or try this: "Lord Butler who conducted gov inquiry into WMD intel says, 'Mr. Blair and the intel community misled themselves." Say what?!! Oh I see...they misled themselves...Move along, nothing to see here...

Isn't it hilarious how these fuckers are trying to cover up culpability for the slaughter of 4,500 of America's finest and AT LEAST 100,000 plus Iraqis - we don't really know how much do we?

Be careful with what you read that BBC article is evil. I'm just sayin'

Just watched the documentary, and I'd recommend catching it when it's available online or wherever.

Not that I expect much to happen as a result, but at least there's some hope it'll hamper Blair's attempts to rewrite history, rehabilitate his image, and keep on meddling on foreign affairs.

from your link

In five years, we could only guess about those two charges. We surmised that in October 1999, I was indicted for blocking the Iraqi Government in Baghdad from making financial campaign contributions to the George W. Bush Presidential Campaign.

That's right. With immediate assistance from my U.S. Intelligence contacts, I stopped Iraq from making illegal campaign contributions to the 2000 Bush Election campaign--at least through my channels.

We have speculated that perhaps Saddam gave money to the Bush Campaign in 2000 through somebody else and some other channel. And the Republicans don't want anybody to know about it. Perhaps I was indicted to stop the Democrats from investigating campaign contribution records.

Consider that Andy Card was warned of Iraq's attempts in two progress reports on March 1, 2001 and December 2, 2001. The Republican leadership that attacked me was very much aware that this question of illegal campaign contributions was hanging out there. And I was indicted for stopping it from happening.

wrote. The other side of that is that countries like Syria, Russia, China, France, Germany, etc., all thought that Iraq had WMD and thought it a good idea to draft up fairly aggressive resolutions to try to force Iraq to accept the Weapons inspectors at the same time (within 72 hours) of when IWR was passed.

It's revisionist history to suggest "They all knew" but some folks are insistent on pushing that meme.

number of our representatives had the courage to vote against those lies.

I remember reading how they had hired the Rendon Group, a PR firm run by someone named John Rendon and paid him hundreds of millions of dollars to 'sell the war' to the American people. I remember feeling repulsed at the very idea that war, slaughter and death was being 'sold' as if it was just another commodity.

I will NEVER and have NEVER supported any Democrat who voted for that criminal lie.

Her vote was what caused me not to support Hillary in the 2008 election. If she runs again, my conscience will not allow me to support her then either.

finally decide that it's time to recognize and "prosecute" that massive machine whose only intent is bent on global imperialism? I could go back for more than a century and point fingers at various individual leaders over the years, of Great Britain (and of the USA), saying that they lied, they actually knew exactly what their purposes were for interfering in Iraq, in the Middle East, proclaiming over a hundred years of heinous war crimes perpetrated against those people unfortunate enough to be born in an area that the West seeks to control.

All I can say is that we've waited ten long years for accountability. During the next ten years, I imagine that we'll begin seeing a few of these running dogs point some fingers of their own, shifting and shuffling the blame around to further confuse the issue, but conveniently postponing any revelations of truth til all of the major players are dead. Officially, there are about ten people that I wouldn't mind seeing hung for plotting the Invasion that they carried out ten years ago today and I don't even believe in the death penalty, but realistically, I don't have much hope of ever seeing those bastards answering for their crimes.

Thanks for the link to that piece, autorank. It's nice to see ya here!
