(5,946 posts)Delaware, etc sometimes - but the mason dixon line runs through southern NJ,. so I tend to think of anything south as the south.

The states from New Jersey down to South Carolina on the east coast of the U.S. are what I have always noticed are mentioned as mid-Atlantic states. The way I usually see my own state listed is as mid-Atlantic, for weather forecasts mostly, in my experience.
