Delaware, etc sometimes - but the mason dixon line runs through southern NJ,. so I tend to think of anything south as the south.

The actual states differ depending on who you ask.

The states from New Jersey down to South Carolina on the east coast of the U.S. are what I have always noticed are mentioned as mid-Atlantic states. The way I usually see my own state listed is as mid-Atlantic, for weather forecasts mostly, in my experience.
