Genetically modified (GM) foods are often promoted as a way to feed the world. But this is little short of a confidence trick. Far from needing more GM foods, there are urgent reasons why we need to ban them altogether.

1. GM foods won’t solve the food crisis
2. GM crops do not increase yield potential
3. GM crops increase pesticide use
4. There are better ways to feed the world
5. Other farm technologies are more successful
6. GM foods have not been shown to be safe to eat
7. People don't want GM foods – so they're hidden in animal feed

The only thing about GM food is that it makes lots of money for a very few, and perhaps a bit of money for the folks who travel the internet trying to shut down talk like this and also treat organic food with scorn.
Yes, it is a con job. Perhaps it was meant well in the beginning, but now it is just such a huge moneymaker that any untoward results are quickly tamped down and hidden.

Be nice if everyone could afford to demand to know if there is GM anything in their food, and not purchase it, if so.

under the name 1,3 propranediol, replacing the petroleum product propylene glycol, which has been linked to cancer.

GMO corn is in everything. Americans are guinea pigs for it. All you can do is stay away from it because the government is not protecting you.
