Framing ....ummmmmmm Re-framing the "gun" conversation in Utah

So there is a lot of hunting that goes on here in Utah. Lots of out of state, novice hunters here in Utah to take advantage of the buffalo hunt (I hear that is kinda like shooting cows), elk and of course the deer. Those novice hunters, lack all sorts of experience and shoot at each other, shoot in "no hunting" designated areas where people have cabins and reside, and some even shoot at livestock, last year killing a donkey. In the past, these life and death accidents made news. Then there were the guffaws and the accompanying cartoons revealing the dangers of hunting with so many novice hunters using the same hunting grounds. In the past there has been outrage and frustration and wanting all sorts of permit and training requirements touted.

Fast forward to 2012-13. Utah passing all sorts of "2nd Amendment Preservation" laws.....and the public narrative is now very very silent on all of those hunting mishaps.

Predictability in action.

He’s been spotted out in the dusty wilds of Utah, lurking among the four-hoofed creatures on his hands and knees. He wears a funny suit with horns and a phony beard. And he’s developing a public following.

He is… Goatman. And he’s baaaaaaaad...

Wildlife authorities have expressed concern: What exactly is this guy doing in the mountains of northern Utah dressed in a goat suit among a herd of wild goats?

Is he an extreme wildlife enthusiast? Or someone on a deranged back-to-nature trip?

"Guns kill people? Pfft! We need to focus on the really important things, like taxing e-cigarettes and walling off the bar in restaurants, because think of the children!"

No one ever accused the state government here of being smart.
