I listened. It was an anti gay rant. She starts it out by saying "their opinion" and then admits that it's "mine too". Then she says Prop 8 will force priests at gunpoint to marry gays and that will bring Jesus back.

Then a woman says "Don't all people deserve your gods love?" And it's obvious by the audio that Shocked gets very angry and starts ranting in spanish.

There was no misinterpretation. This was blatant bigotry.

It's not nearly as bad as we were led to believe.
Of course, she does sound like a crazy person.
But in that context, it's not quite as horrid as some of what I'd heard.
For instance, someone here was saying something like "Michelle Socked was screaming 'God hates fags' over and over again at Yoshi's..."
It clearly wasn't that.

One poster had seen two slightly different twitters from people at the show (paraphrasing):

1. "Shocked says God hates fags."

2. "Now people will say Shocked says God hates fags."

As that poster wrote, two very different meanings.

I'm on dialup so can't listen to the tape. I had only barely heard of Michelle Shocked before this. Seems like a sad situation for her. I hope her fans calm down a little and don't rush to judgement.
