Equal Rights Amendment sent to states for ratification-21 mar 72 (first proposed 1923)


The Equal Rights Amendment

Section 1. Equality of rights under the law shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any state on account of sex.

Section 2. The Congress shall have the power to enforce, by appropriate legislation, the provisions of this article.

Section 3. This amendment shall take effect two years after the date of ratification.

and I am thankful to all the wonderful posters in history of feminism, and those who post in women's rights and issues for bringing it all to us. it is my privilege to do my part in unearthing some of what has been hidden. (used to drive my teachers, my professors, and bookdealers crazy with my insistent "WHERE ARE THE WOMEN?"
