Harry Reid, they deserve a vote.

Period. Those children deserve a vote. Gabby Giffords deserves a vote. Hadiya Pendleton deserves a vote. Trayvon Martin deserves a vote. Every man, woman, and child who was killed by gun violence deserves a vote. Period. A vote. Forget the 60 to get it to the floor. Just put it out there and vote. I demand a vote.

NRA Support.

Sen Harry Reid, D-Nev., got National Rifle Association leader Wayne LaPierre to speak about Reid's support for gun rights.
Reid is in dire straits, electorally speaking, and needs all the help he can get lining up votes on the conservative side of the spectrum.
"He is a true champion of the Second Amendment back in Washington, DC," LaPierre said of Reid at a dedication for a new shooting range.

4. I'm not concerned with whether something is pragmatic for Harry Reid. The nation's business is more

than his political career. I want people on record for their vote on this issue even if it goes down in flames because it matters. It matters a lot. And while I'm at it, LaPierre can kiss my tush.

3. It will get a vote,

just not as part of the overall package, it will be introduced as either a stand alone bill or an amendment.

The chances of it passing is pretty much toast at this point, Sen. Feinstein said on Tues. that she didn't even have 40 yea votes, which means that a whole bunch of Dems have told her that they will vote no an AWB.

Senator Reid,

To honor the deaths of anyone killed by assault rifles I ask that you regardless of the number of votes bring the ban to a up or down vote of the US Senate body and put those opposed on the record..

Thank you,

8. Since the AWB will get a vote as an amendment instead of it being in the main bill...

... it might be better doing it that way.

Because the main bill will have a better chance of passing and when the amendments are voted on separately we will know who is voting yes/no on each separate issue.

and/or Minority Leader McConnell (fat chance) to ask that ALL BILLS (assault weapons, universal background checks) receive a vote on the floor of the senate. Also ask them to vote YES on these two bills.

I received an urgent email today from the Brady Campaign to do this, and I did so. Visit their website to get direct contact numbers.
