Video Shows NYPD Brutally Beating a Teenager


A camera caught NYPD officers brutally beating 19-year-old Jateik Reed, as they arrested him Thursday on robbery, possession of marijuana and crack charges. The disturbing footage shows police punching, kicking, and striking Reed with batons, even after he hit the ground. But allegations of abuse do not end there. A witness who shouted at the police to stop says cops entered his home before beating him as well.

Schuan Reed, Jateik's mother, told New York One through tears,

"They refused to take him back to the hospital and they wouldn't give him no medicine or anything. He is sitting there telling me his head is hurting, he doesn't feel good," she said, "He has staples in his head, he has staples in his arm, his eyes were black, his whole entire back is black, blue, purple."

Reed is also being charged with resisting arrest, and one officer says he required stitches on his nose after the incident, but Reed's family says that's all a cover-up, and doesn't warrant the abuse Reed suffered, anyway. .............(more)
