1. I saw that earlier........and laughed. Then I thought about it, and began to get a bit depressed...

They live among us, you know.

I left a very small town in the dust and moved to a large urban centre when I was barely in my teens. I have worked for people in law and medicine, have worked for hospitals and addiction research, have worked in banking and, briefly, in advertising. I thought I'd seen almost everything there was to see. My son informed me this week that I have been very sheltered; even those I know who have worked in things like textiles and construction are intelligent, use good grammar and read more than a book a month. That, you see, is what makes me sheltered...I don't know too many idiots!

I'm beginning to see what he means.

I would ask the "protesters" how they could afford to spend weeks protesting Fox News when other Americans had to go to work to pay bills.
There are legitimate reasons for one to take days off work to engage in social protest but concern that Fox News is leaning to the left is not one of them.
Its a silly protest that makes those involved look rather stupid and petty. It is clear their goal in watching Fox is not news but confirmation of discredited beliefs and positions.
It is time for them to move on. But that would mean no more Koch Bros. checks deposited into their bank accounts.
Hypocrites and assholes, willing to sell out their neighbors for a few shekels.

8. That is indeed who they appeal to

the tragic part is that they still appeal to so many, even if their numbers aren't what they used to be. Ten people is still ten too many.

If they want to keep hammering on non-issues like Bengazi which was very tragic, but in reality isn't of the same magnitude as being lied into being in two wars. Then let them hammer on that issue and at the same time ignore all the embassy attacks that occurred under the GW reign. When they do that people realize one attack isn't the same as hundreds of attacks even though just one attack is tragic.

"The only thing preventing society from devolving into a post-apocalyptic wasteland of marauding evildoers are some decorative eggs from the Ukraine"

Last week it was: "You know you've got a big ass when you got shot in it while at a street festival and don't even notice until somebody later points out that you're bleeding"

(Actually, those were user-created headlines linking to the original stories. But they were better than the real ones.)

These people have no clue how much of a satire they are acting out, and that is rather scary in itself.

*on edit: my favorite line was this one: “If I want news, I go to Breitbart News and Drudge and I can find all the news I need, very quickly.....”

Anyone who thinks there is news to be found on Breitbart or Drudge can probably be found outside with Linus on Halloween, expecting the Great Pumpkin to show up at any moment.
