Act of sportsmanship gives Texas high schooler shot at glory (great update on this story)

The NCAA has invited Mitchell and Jonathon, along with their teams and coaches, to the Men's Basketball Sweet 16 and Elite 8 games next weekend in Dallas, where they will be be recognized.
After seeing the story on the "CBS Evening News," the chancellor of Texas Tech University called Jonathon to offer him a scholarship to the university.
Original story:
(CBS News) EL PASO, Texas -- Coach Peter Morales of the Coronado High School Thunderbirds in El Paso, Texas, makes no qualms about it: he has a favorite on this team.

Mitchell Marcus

Team manager Mitchell Marcus has a developmental disability, but he far surpasses everyone here when it comes to love of the game.

"He's just an amazing person that our basketball team loves being around," Morales says.

Mitchell's mom, Amy, says he's always been that way.

"Mitchell always had a basketball, that was always what he wanted for his birthday," she says.

And because basketball is that important to him, on the last game of the regular season, the coach told Mitchell to suit up.

Always makes me cry when I see the video of Mitchell playing in that last game.

Like Mitchell, many with worse developmental disabilities. They deserve a chance to play, too.

I have wondered what his decision would mean for his future.

The referee has enough heart and sense not to interfere. It was the LAST play that would not decide the game. Or are you a purist and EVERYTHING has to be by the book.

They eat the whistle on plays that are rougher than hell.
