Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsI found this story buried at MSNBC..about journalist being arrested at hearing.
MSNBC has this as an "enviornment issue" not one of "freedom of the press"
It is there, but not among the major stories..a secondary story. I wonder how it would be reported if one of their
crews were arrested for taping an event. So, those at MSNBC, who run it, can say..yea we reported it, but
it never got front page coverage...
The story is located in U.S News, under the .."Enviornment" subheading...
See for yourself....

(45,319 posts)here were ahead of this game thanks to H2OMan and others, and were hotly calling Congress ahead of Josh Fox's filming, that is we tried to get him allowed to film, then protested his arrest.
If this chaps your hide, and it should, it would not hurt to pressure Congress to acknowledge documentary filmmakers as journalists, which they currently are not, they can fall into a 'loophole' until they are treated like the journalists they are. It is not just Fox, this is an ongoing issue which should get attention from all who want an informed citizenry. Tell Congress documentary makers ARE the press, that they are journalists and must get access and rights just like traditional journalists.

i saw this on the tv last night and it was reported as a free speech/government-in-the-sunshine story. might have been current tv.
