Even the Freepers are fed up with Wal-Mart.

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3001154/posts

They are being so stupid and irresponsible.
Instead of hiring enough employees to keep the shelves stocked, they have decided to "save money" by not hiring enough employees.

Well, because of this act of "saving money," the merchandise isn't being put on the shelves. Instead, it's just sitting there in the back room, or on the floor in the aisles, and so the customers aren't able to buy it. As a result, many customers are fleeing to other stores, like Target and Costco.

So, the result of Wal-Mart's action of "saving money" by not hiring enough employees is actually costing them far more than it "saves."

The market is just uncertain. Housing uptick? Uncertain. Stock market/profits at all time highs? Uncertain. Interest rates practically negative? Uncertain.

Now, any REAL business doesn't say that things are uncertain for half a decade or longer, they plan, invest, etc.

But the ones the Republicans keep coming up with are somehow able to stay in business while not doing anything thanks to fear.

I'd love to hear the rationale on how Obama makes it all uncertain, but Romney was going to make everybody confident.

Sure seems like banking/investment is certain. Auto industry is pretty cool with things too. Energy companies? No real risk of regulation, pollution control from Obama.

I think it's just like the gun grabbing thoughts. He hasn't done it yet to lull us into a false sense of security, but NOW, he's coming for our guns. Please buy more of them, and ammo while you can! Wait, he didn't do it when I guaranteed it last time? NOW he's coming! Personally. No wait, with the UN! The secret army he's training in South America! No, the Germans we practiced with in New Mexico. That's the one.

Ok, maybe it's the black thing.

not defending them or stating an opinion about their overall approach to business, but this anecdotal data means next to nothing about what the big picture of this is.

I mean, what shopping venues do they frequent for the purposes of comparison?

Sears & Roebuck doesn't do mail order anymore and the pages have been too glossy for the outhouse for years!

I saw enough anecdotal evidence on a thread yesterday to convince me it's a more widespread problem.

The more you cut worker morale, the more you strip them of the tools to do the job you pay them so little to do, the less they care about customer service.

It is THAT. FUKKING. SIMPLE.

Naturally, they went out of business in about a year. People in charge don't seem to have any common sense,
