April cover of NRA's American Rifleman magazine

But then who expected a serious discussion of actual proposals for reducing gun violence...or even a bit of sanity? It contains exactly what we've come to expect from a Wayne LaPierre article:

" You and your freedom are in danger of being buried by a blizzard of lies. President Barack Obama, VP Biden, the gun-ban lobby and anti-gun politicians across America are using distortions, deception, and flat- out lies to try to decieve the American public, frighten families, poison public opinion, silence gun owners, and hammer the Obama-Biden Gun-Ban Plan into law."

Poe's law, named after its author Nathan Poe, is an Internet adage reflecting the idea that without a clear indication of the author's intent, it is difficult or impossible to tell the difference between sincere extremism and an exaggerated parody of extremism.

The things they're saying are just so ridiculous and so obviously intended as manipulation, that it's hard to believe that they're for real rather than a parody, yet they are clearly for real.

"King Pinocchio"? Seriously? They really need a better PR team, and I hope that they don't get one.

...in the Gungeon until Newtown. I wonder how our resident DU Gun Crowd feels about the President now that he's made clear he wants to take away their "rights."

Does it not look like they intend the viewer to add 'fuc' before it?

It looks like the Gun Owners of America is stealing NRA's more hysterical members, and this cover represents NRA's opening salvo in their outnut-GOA campaign.
