German solar power produced 28 TWh in 2012.

The U.K. just approved the new Hinkley Point nuclear power station. This station by itself should average almost that much per year.

Germany's left over reactors produced 3-4 times that amount... and they don't have anything close to 20 NPSs

That's like saying that a bucket is the same as a fire hose because for a brief time they put out the same amount of water.

It was a very sunny day and the solar capacity had the stated output. Why call this accomplishment 'nonsense'? Congrats to Germany.

But closing those Nuclear power stations in Germany has led to a great deal more coal being burned, including the much dirtier anthracite, or "brown coal" in the eastern Germany.

And that's a step backwards for the environment.
