Now I Get Where All The School Bullies Went...

I didn't really get bullied a bunch in school (mostly becaue I was hardly ever there), but I do remember some of them, mostly because they were loud and arrogant and...pathetic.

So when I read this story http://www.democraticunderground.com/1002265732 I had a gestalt moment of all the hundreds of stories I've read over the last few years about abusive cops, and realized...

...THAT'S where the bullies ended up...on the friggin' police force!!

Now it is staring to make sense...sort of...I guess...maybe...after all, you'd think they'd have some sort of test for this by now...you know, to disqualify bullies, rather than empowering them...over-empowering them...

Bullies end up everywhere.

By the way, when you need them and you dial 911...guess who shows up.

Wow. How very inciteful of you. That means there must be a lot more bullies around than I figured.

See, I figure there are probably 3 bad cops out of every 5 (have them in the family, don't trust them a bit, 1 brother, 1 uncle, both Limbaugh fans, too). And out of those 3, I'd guess one was a bully, given that cops tend to follow a "pack" mentatlity when attacking innocent civilians (or even criminals; no persons should be attacked by the police, if the police are, in fact, true law ENFORCERS), and the "weaker" in the "pack" follow what the instigators (that would be the bullies) do (and then cover it up for the bullies, of course), thereby doing what bullies so often do - incite others to join them in their fun and frolic, i.e., hitting people, framing people, practicing racism, and that favorite old chestnut, buh-buh-buh-breaking the law.

Cops do seem to be above the law, you know. And tell me, what better place for a bully to find social acceptance? Other than, you know, a prison...

But since you MUST be correct by reading an ABSOLUTE into my post that is not, in reality, present within my post, there must be MILLIONS of bullies. Wow. Who'd a thunk it?

Hey - thanks so much for clearing that up for me. Now, to go hunt for some more non-existent absolutes...you're sure having a ball with them...come on, say it with me: DRAMA! DRAMA! DRUM ME UP SOME DRAMA! FACE VALUE IS JUST SOOOOOO BORING!!

A real 911 call, a pickup parks on my street, four guys drag a fifth guy out of the back of a pickup, set him up against the truck and start beating the crap out him. In a few seconds they have to hold him up, and do, while they continue. I call 911 right away, but I see a couple of other neighbors with phones in their hands at their windows, and that's exactly what 911 told me.

So yeah, you're right, you don't only find bullies in the police department. 911 has their share.

Assuming you live in the right ZIP code area. And don't have a "brown" name. even then they might shoot your dog. or your kid. No telling, really.

officers are black, so I doubt they wouldn't show up if you have a "brown" name. And I'm sure there are black police officers employed just about everywhere... The time when cops were all white males is long over.

Our son and son in law were both cops. Heavy handed tactics were at the very least tolerated and often even rewarded with promotions etc. Son had enough after about five years and packed it in. His comment: "If I stayed there much longer I was going to turn into a sadist". S-I-L naively decided he would try to please the higher ups by throwing his weight around only he wasn't very good at it and wound up getting busted after he came on a little strong with the children of some prominent citizens. Exactly what we always told him would happen. After that he realized he was on a shit list and didn't have much of a future there so he quit too.

The moral I guess from the police brass and politicians is, we want you to be a bully but if somebody bitches about it, we don't know who the fuck you are. Definitely mixed signals.
