I dreamed I saw Occupy last night
Alive it seemed, to me
But love, I said, I heard you're dead
On D.U. and T.V.
They smeared you on the network news
And dragged you through the mud
With gas, rubber bullets and clubs
Till the street ran red with blood
The 1% have lied to you, said she
And the sun burst through her smile
I was hidden in fears darkness
But I've been here all the while
The bonus army and wobblies,
Abraham, Martin and John
And all who stand for freedom
Are together as time moves on
So take each other by the hands
And make that mike check loud
Refuse to bend for tyrants
And make this nation proud

(3,574 posts)My local Occupation, by going there and hanging out with them and occasional pizza/doughnuts. I'm too old and busted up for long term camping. It thrills my blood to see people coming together for freedom when I least expected it.
