Newstand sales are the most important measuring stat of a magazine. If they think that a particular picture on the cover will sell somewhere else but turn off the average American, they wont run it here.

Big Corporations are NOT our friends.

Big Corporations are a BIG part of the problem.

I'm pretty sure that Time knows what moves magazines off of newsstands.

The idea that they are engaging in some sort of agenda-driven manipulation by using a cover geared toward Americans' egotistical focus in the US strikes me as just silly.

Their goal is to make money by selling magazines.
