5. You should see Gran Torino

It's been pretty obvious since Unforgiven that Eastwood is much closer to us in outlook than the characters he plays. Gran Torino was a brilliant piece about a racist vet learning the humanity of the asians "taking over" his neighborhood.

Clint and Charlton Heston were their Hollywood holdouts (when people want to flatter me or when their eyesight is going bad, they tell me I look like him. So I have to like Clint).

They're fit to be tied--frothing at the mouth.

Obviously, it's a subliminal Obama ad--paid for by Chrysler and narrated by that longtime left-winger Clint Eastwood.
Deliciously hilarous!

He's a Republican, yes, but he has supported Democrats in the past, and he's known to be very liberal when it comes to social issues and the environment. He has even called himself "moderate" and "libertarian" at different times in his life.

Even though Eastwood supported McCain in 2008, he wished Obama well after the election, and he's to date genuinely undecided as to whom he will support in 2012.
